Double Pointed Knitting needle help!?

I have four double Pointed Knitting Needles and recently the yarn is becoming harder and harder move along on the needles. At this point i'm thinking that the needles are done and I should just throw them out but does anybody know how to make the needles more slippery and easier to knit with? thankyou for your help!

If you are having issues moving stitches on aluminum needles, you need to determine the reason, not just throw out the needles. Are you making the stitches on the barrel or the point?
