I'm looking for free sites to print vintage and antique Crochet Patterns ?

Hello. I am looking for as many free Vintage Crochet Patterns as I can possibly get! For Christmas this year, I am compiling a huge folder of patterns for my Mom. She loves to crochet with vintage patterns, but has so many books in her collection already, I'm scared to buy her any more (in case I accidentally get duplicates of ones she already owns). So, I went out and bought a whole bunch of paper and ink to print a large assortment of them. I am looking for doilies (pineapple patterns especially), and any other pattern from the 1950's and before. I do have many already, but am still looking for more. So I thought this would be a great way for everyone to post links to sites and free ebooks of their favorite patterns so that we can all share.

This story is presented in three parts, ending in me more than $ 200 cashmere for $ 5 in revenue and less than two hours of my time.

One of my favorite people (Angela) got me back into the swing of knitting. I stopped knitting when I moved out on my own, and had not been so proud results. Turns out I'm a snob yarn quality. Sweaters, scarves, etc. .. simply were not as fun to use or display when flights were made with yarn, synthetic. Now that I live in a big city (thanks, Seattle), with many options for fans and enthusiasts have come to love the yarn. I used to think I was very allergic wool, but the merino and cashmere varieties do not seem to bother me. The downward so that the performance is much more happened in some thread. (Really worth it, though.)

A few weeks ago, my fellow choir, Northwest Chamber Chorus had a fundraising auction. One of the songs I loved, but someone most bought at the maximum bid immediately, was a set of three hand-woven, felt teddy bears. That was incredible. The reason was not meant to be felt, so you have to do regular, soft teddy bear, but when that auction is done, they were beautiful and ancient, like something out of the horse and buggy era. I decided to make the first for our friends little girl.

Since this would be for a child two years, I decided I probably did not want to spend the usual amount of friendly merino wool, which would be ideal for these bears. After some line Excavation for business in the thread, I came across an article on the recovery of wool sweaters thrift store in Lee Meredith. Well, this seemed like a great idea, and I was sure not to be a costly experiment (and as a man in love with physics and rocket experiments costly know ... lol). Some of us gathered to visit our local Goodwill store, I found three shirts that were of good quality, and took the victim to be torn apart first - a cashmere $ 5 a camel-colored sweater with some holes in the sleeves.

With the help of my partner, a reel of thread, and fast, also quickly took the sweater by rolling into a ball, and then relax in the fast to make large loops of yarn twisting. Were soaked, hung to dry, and finished back in the balls ... for the most part. The only difficulty I had was when I tried to wind them into balls again after drying. There was a bit of mess, and so, I would recommend bind the wire in at least 8 places before soaking. Apart from that, Lee gave the instructions were great, and I ended up with about 200 grams of cashmere beautiful, smooth ready for my project. (120 grams was lost in the process, and where the sweater and was damaged.)
